Asmik Grigorian performs with Tonkünstler Orchestra in Grafenegg

Soprano Asmik Grigorian delivered a highly acclaimed performance with the Tonkünstler Orchestra in Grafenegg. Under the direction of chief conductor Fabien Gabel, the concert featured a diverse program ranging from Italian compositions to the works of Richard Strauss.

The first half of the program focused on Italian music, including works by Respighi, Bellini, and Verdi. Grigorian was noted for her subtle vocal control and pitch accuracy during Bellini’s ‘Casta diva’.

The second half centered on the ‘Salome’ theme, featuring the impressionist works of Mél Bonis, a composer whose music is seeing a modern resurgence. The performance concluded with a dramatic finale from Richard Strauss’s ‘Salome’, where Grigorian was praised for a powerful vocal delivery that maintained clarity even at high volumes.
