Milijan Brkić medically transported from Mostar to Zagreb by helicopter

Milijan Brkić, a former Vice President of the Croatian Parliament and high-ranking HDZ official, was medically transported via helicopter from Mostar to Zagreb on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

The Croatian Ministry of Health confirmed that the transport was requested by the University Clinical Hospital Mostar due to the complexity of the patient's condition. The patient was transferred to the intensive care unit at Dubrava Clinical Hospital in Zagreb for further treatment.

The Ministry of the Interior (MUP) confirmed that their helicopter performed the emergency flight at the request of the Ministry of Health. While MUP initially declined to confirm the identity of the patient to protect medical privacy, the Ministry of Health subsequently confirmed the identity as Milijan Brkić. The flight was conducted as part of established protocols for the emergency medical transport of Croatian citizens from abroad.
