ASML to grant €20,000 retention bonuses to staff staying 2027‑2030
ASML announced that all eligible employees will receive a conditional stock grant valued at €20,000 if they remain with the company from 2027 through 2030. The grant, which cannot be sold before Jan 2030, is part of a broader effort to retain talent amid a severe shortage of skilled workers in the semiconductor sector.
The Dutch firm, Europe’s most valuable listed company, posted a net income of €2.92 billion for the latest quarter and expects revenue of €43‑45 billion this year. With its lithography machines sold out through 2027 and a target to increase production of its most advanced systems by 30 % in 2027, ASML faces the risk that a lack of engineers and technicians could hinder growth. Similar retention bonuses are being offered by peers such as Samsung, TSMC and SK Hynix.
