ASML lifts 2026 sales outlook, expands EUV capacity amid US export worries

ASML, the Dutch supplier of extreme‑ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines, raised its 2026 sales forecast to €43‑45 billion, a 16 % increase over its prior outlook. The company said it will expand production capacity by about 30 % over the next two years to meet what CEO Christophe Fouquet described as “extremely strong” demand for AI‑driven semiconductor chips. CFO Roger Dassen added that the expansion also anticipates new customers, including a project in Texas.

Separately, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick asked ASML executives to meet over concerns that one of its EUV tools might have been transferred to China in violation of export controls. ASML denied the allegation, stating it knows the location of all 340 EUV machines and none are in China. Nonetheless, reports surfaced that a Shanghai‑based firm is developing a less‑advanced copy of the technology and aims to produce five units next year.
