ASML reports surge in Q3 revenue amid rising AI chip demand
ASML reported strong third-quarter 2026 financial results, with revenue rising 55.2% year-on-year to 11.662 billion euros and net profit increasing 133.5% to 4.9604 billion euros. This growth was driven by surging demand for semiconductor lithography equipment, particularly for advanced logic and DRAM applications fueled by the expansion of AI infrastructure.
The company noted that demand for its equipment is expected to exceed supply through 2027 and 2028. Consequently, ASML is considering expanding its production capacity beyond its previous targets for 2028. While some customers have expressed interest in orders for 2029 and 2030, these do not yet constitute confirmed orders.
In the field of next-generation technology, Intel has reported exceeding 1 million wafers exposed using High NA EUV lithography. Other major players, including Samsung Electronics and TSMC, have committed to integrating High NA EUV technology into their production processes, with TSMC planning implementation in 2030.
