ASML to link executive compensation to employee satisfaction

ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet has announced plans to integrate employee satisfaction metrics into the compensation strategy for top executives and the board of directors. This move follows a decline in the company’s internal employee engagement index, which fell from 78% to 73.5% in a recent survey of approximately 38,000 employees.

In an internal memo, Fouquet acknowledged that the decline reflects a period of significant organizational restructuring aimed at reducing bureaucracy. To address this, the company will utilize a new ‘Workplace Experience Index’—derived from specific survey questions—as a component of long-term incentive plans for senior management.

While the company continues to show strong financial performance, including a reported net profit of 4.96 billion euros for the third quarter of 2026 and an increased net sales forecast for 2026, the leadership is prioritizing corporate culture to manage the impact of ongoing internal changes.
