Asna blends Ivorian heritage with electronic music at Les Escales

Ivorian DJ and producer Asna presented her ‘Rave in Town’ project at the Les Escales festival in Saint-Nazaire, France, in late July 2026. Her musical style blends electronic techno with African grooves, creating a sensory experience that incorporates elements of trance and continental vibrations.

Asna’s artistic identity is deeply rooted in her childhood in the Guiglo region of western Côte d’Ivoire. The natural landscapes and rhythms of her youth influence her choice of textures and musical atmospheres, aiming to connect electronic pulsations with the sounds of the living environment. Her musical foundation was built through early exposure to local artists, such as John Yalley, and a culture of discovering new releases at local record stores.

Before pursuing music, Asna studied graphic design, with her educational journey taking her through Abidjan, Dakar, and Rabat. Her performances often feature unique visual elements, such as performing behind an ornate mask decorated with cowrie shells, accompanied by dancers to enhance the immersive nature of her sets.
