Asni inaugurates two new boarding schools for 516 students

Two new boarding schools have been inaugurated in Asni, located in the El Haouz province, to accommodate 516 students aged 11 to 18. Developed by the association Amis des Écoles in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, the project aims to support schooling for children from rural areas following the September 2023 earthquake.

The facilities cover more than 5,500 square meters and were built to seismic standards, including accessibility features for students with reduced mobility. The girls' dormitory spans 3,186 square meters with 262 beds and floor-level libraries, while the boys' dormitory covers 2,400 square meters with 254 beds, featuring a canteen, study areas, and sports facilities.

The Ministry of National Education will manage the daily operations of the institutions. Amis des Écoles, led by president Amal Zniber, intends to continue supporting students through extracurricular activities focused on civic education, environmental protection, and online safety. The project was supported by various public and private partners, including Siemens, Foundation Unlimited, INDH, Azura, Fondation de France, Global Giving, and Education For All Morocco.
