Asociación Hermanos Saíz celebrates 40 years of cultural influence in Cuba

The Asociación Hermanos Saíz (AHS) is celebrating its 40th anniversary with several cultural tributes in Cuba. The organization has awarded its highest recognition, the Maestro de Juventudes prize, to various Cuban artists and intellectuals whose work serves as a guide for younger generations. Recipients include figures across dance, visual arts, literature, cinema, theater, and music.

In addition to national selections, the award was extended to Brazilian activist and theologian Frei Betto for his defense of Cuba and promotion of solidarity.

To mark the anniversary, a special event titled ‘El elogio oportuno’ will be held at the Fayad Jamís Bookstore in Havana. The event will feature discussions with AHS President Yasel Toledo and other cultural figures, alongside radio segments and musical performances dedicated to the organization’s four decades of influence on the island's artistic vanguard.
