Italy wine regions launch new enotourism and branding initiatives
Various Italian wine consortia and regional entities are launching new initiatives to promote enotourism and territorial branding.
The Consorzio Vini di Romagna is moving its “Vini ad Arte” event to Milan on October 12, 2026, to connect Romagnolo producers with Lombardy's dynamic market. Meanwhile, the Asolo Montello region is introducing the “Enoteca Diffusa” project, a digital and itinerant network designed to connect wineries, restaurants, and cultural sites to enhance the area's attractiveness.
In Piedmont, eleven municipalities in the Asti province have united under the “Riviera del Monferrato” brand to highlight the unique microclimate and viticulture of the Alto Monferrato. In Sicily, the fifth edition of the “Etna Wine Forum” will take place in Biancavilla from October 8–11, featuring Michelin-starred chefs and masterclasses to showcase the wines of the Etna southwest slope.
These developments align with shifting consumer trends; data indicates that by 2026, approximately 18 million Italians will be involved in wine-related experiences, with a growing preference for visiting family-run wineries over simple product purchases.
