Asp di Crotone reports increased medical services and appointment management
The Provincial Health Agency (Asp) of Crotone has reported a 183% increase in medical services booked and provided through the Cup system during the early months of 2026. Under the leadership of Director General Antonio Graziano, the agency has managed over 9,000 additional appointments compared to the previous year.
Key achievements include high regional targets for the Electronic Health Record (FSE) and strict adherence to chronological priority classes for appointments. However, challenges remain regarding long waiting times for specific specialist branches and complex management of diagnostic radiology, including CT scans and MRIs.
Separately, questions have been raised regarding the legitimacy of a recent appointment for the head of the Cirò Marina sub-district area. The position was assigned to Dr. N. M. via a resolution signed by agency directors, but without the mandatory prior positive opinion from the Technical College required by the 2016-2018 National Collective Labor Agreement. The current resolution makes the appointment's effectiveness subordinate to a subsequent verification by the Technical College, leading to concerns regarding potential favoritism and the legal stability of decisions made by the appointee in the interim.
