ASP Sicily showcases medical innovation and narrative medicine

The Azienda Sanitaria Provinciale (ASP) is highlighting diverse healthcare initiatives through training programs and participation in the ExpoMedicina technological innovation salon.

In Messina, the ASP conducted a training course titled “La medicina narrativa strumento di cura” (Narrative medicine as a tool for healing). The program focuses on integrating clinical information with patients' personal experiences to improve therapeutic paths, treatment adherence, and healthcare worker burnout prevention. The course introduced tools such as the narrative clinical record to complement standard medical documentation.

Additionally, the ASP Ragusa will participate in the sixth edition of ExpoMedicina. The agency's presentation will cover several key areas, including family counseling services for adolescents, multidisciplinary home assistance for vulnerable families, and digital cardiology. Digital health initiatives include telemedicine, electronic health records, and the use of artificial intelligence to identify early risks of heart failure. The agency will also present programs dedicated to health promotion and the “Codice Rosa” project, which aims to raise awareness and combat gender-based violence.
