Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival opens with Verdi’s ‘Attila’

The 33rd International Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival has commenced at the historic Aspendos Ancient Theatre. Organized by the General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet, the event runs from September 12 to September 26, 2026.

The festival opened with Giuseppe Verdi’s opera ‘Attila’, directed by Yiğit Günsoy and conducted by Lorenzo Castriota. The performance featured the Antalya State Opera and Ballet Orchestra and Chorus. The program for this year includes a total of four works and six performances, encompassing one opera, two ballets, and one stage cantata.

International participation includes artists from the Abay Opera of Kazakhstan. Upcoming scheduled performances include the ballet ‘Anna Karenina’ on September 15, and ‘Carmina Burana’ on September 19 and 21.
