Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival to begin September 12

The 33rd International Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival is scheduled to take place from September 12 to September 26 at the Aspendos Ancient Theatre in Antalya, Turkey. Organized by the General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet, the event utilizes the natural acoustics of the 2,000-year-old venue.

The festival will open on September 12 with Giuseppe Verdi’s opera ‘Attila,’ directed by Yiğit Günsoy and conducted by Lorenzo Castriota. The program includes a world premiere of the ballet ‘Anna Karenina,’ choreographed by Young Soon Hue, on September 15. Additionally, Carl Orff’s ‘Carmina Burana’ will be performed on September 19 and 21.

The festival concludes on September 25 and 26 with performances by the Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre from Kazakhstan, who will present the ballet ‘Spartacus.’
