Asphodelia announces new symphonic metal album ‘Unfairy Tales’
Italian symphonic metal band Asphodelia has announced the release of their new studio album, titled ‘Unfairy Tales’. Scheduled for release on November 13, 2026, via Kraempus Records, the album features nine tracks with a total duration of 46 minutes.
Originating from Foggia, the band describes their sound as dark symphonic metal that blends cinematic orchestrations, solemn choirs, and Mediterranean resonances with contemporary metal. The lyrical themes are inspired by Greco-Roman mythology and visions of the ancient underworld, exploring concepts such as the boundary between life and death, decay, and existential transformation.
The album was recorded at Walls of Sleep Studio, with mixing and mastering completed at 16th Cellar Studio. The tracklist includes ‘Asherah of the Sea’, ‘Medusa’, ‘River, River’, ‘Queen of Nothing’, ‘The Bride’, ‘Another Day’, ‘Penelope’s Lament’, ‘VIII’, and ‘Atropos Awakes’. The band stated that the project is a personal journey that reflects their experiences over recent years.
