ASPİLSAN Enerji develops domestic battery solutions for naval platforms

ASPİLSAN Enerji is developing domestic battery solutions to meet the energy requirements of the Turkish Armed Forces, specifically for naval platforms. The company provides energy storage systems for both manned and unmanned maritime vessels, including contributions to the MİLGEM project.

Ahmet Turan Özdemir, General Manager of ASPİLSAN Enerji, highlighted the technical challenges of underwater operations, such as high pressure and the lack of GPS or wired power options. To address these, the company is focusing on high-security, high-energy-density lithium battery technologies. Their current portfolio includes nickel-cadmium batteries, torpedo batteries for unmanned underwater vehicles, and propulsion system components for various sea platforms.
