Aspire Circle launches ESG performance framework for utilities

Aspire Circle and Aspire Impact have launched ‘Utilities: An ESG Performance Framework’ as part of the Impact Future Project (IFP), a thought-leadership initiative supported by Capgemini.

The publication was co-authored by 13 industry leaders from India’s power generation, water supply, waste management, and sustainability sectors. It aims to provide a practical, sector-specific approach to measuring Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance, specifically addressing the risks and opportunities within the utilities sector.

This framework is the sixth in a planned series of 12 sector-specific frameworks designed to improve ESG assessment comparability across the Indian economy. By separating ESG risks from opportunities, the framework allows stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities and long-term sustainable value. The assessment includes core KPIs and specific indicators such as emissions management, water stewardship, biodiversity impact, and employee health and safety.
