Asrem denies claims of dialysis service failures in Molise

A dispute has emerged regarding the quality and accessibility of dialysis services in the Molise region of Italy. The National Association of Hemodialysis, Dialysis, and Transplant (ANED) has raised concerns through an open letter from Vice-Secretary Don Francesco Martino, alleging instances of poor patient management and service denials.

Specific allegations include a patient being denied treatment at a local center despite available capacity, forcing them to travel long distances, and a foreign patient being redirected from an emergency room during a medical crisis.

In response, Asrem has rejected claims of structural service failures, describing the reports as ‘unjustified alarmism.’ Asrem maintains that the network of Limited Assistance Centers (CAL) in Larino and Venafro is efficient and secure. They state that patient monitoring is maintained through qualified nursing staff and telemedicine links to hub centers in Termoli and Isernia, asserting that therapeutic outcomes remain satisfactory.
