Asrem ordered to pay nurses meal voucher compensation

The Court of Campobasso has ruled in favor of three nurses from the Cardarelli Hospital regarding a dispute over meal vouchers and break rights. The court deemed the regional health authority Asrem's internal regulations illegitimate, as they failed to recognize the right to meal services or substitute vouchers for shift workers performing continuous duties exceeding six hours.

The ruling follows a previous stance by the company that required shifts to exceed eight hours to qualify for such benefits. The court found this interpretation to be in contradiction with national regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and established Supreme Court jurisprudence. As a result, Asrem has been ordered to compensate the nurses for economic damages related to unpaid meal vouchers. This marks the fourth consecutive favorable ruling for the NurSind union in this matter.
