Assú UPA exceeds capacity with over 300 daily medical consultations

The UPA Dr. Milton Marques de Medeiros in Assú recorded 11,068 medical consultations in July 2026, averaging approximately 357 daily visits. This volume significantly exceeds the unit's original capacity of 150 daily consultations established by Ministry of Health parameters.

Pediatric services accounted for 5,364 of these consultations. The facility also provided 2,312 laboratory exams and over 2,070 imaging exams during the month. To manage the high demand, the unit maintains 24-hour medical shifts and dedicated pediatric care from 7:00 to 19:00.
