Assam and Himachal Pradesh leaders hold key political meetings

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Union Minister Pralhad Joshi in New Delhi to discuss several key development priorities for the state. The discussions focused on education, food and civil supplies, and renewable energy. Sarma described the meeting as “very fruitful,” emphasizing the state's efforts to strengthen infrastructure and public service delivery through coordination with the central government.

In Himachal Pradesh, former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur stated that the opposition intends to play a constructive role during the upcoming monsoon session of the state assembly. Thakur noted that while the opposition will support the government if issues are addressed seriously, they will act as the voice of the people if attempts are made to suppress democratic discourse. He also raised concerns regarding the government's handling of information within the assembly and the alleged use of legal cases against representatives.
