Assam approves land for first agricultural college in Barak Valley
The Assam Cabinet has approved the allotment of 84.6 acres of land in Patharkandi to establish the state’s fourth agricultural college. This institution will be the first of its kind in the Barak Valley, located in the Sribhumi district.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the move aims to expand access to specialized agricultural education, research, and innovation for young people in the region. The college is expected to support the local economy by providing a platform for studying farming practices and technologies tailored to the specific needs of the Barak Valley.
