Assam BJP leader Bikash Dhar found dead in Sribhumi

Bikash Dhar, a 50-year-old BJP leader and social worker from Chagalmowa village, has been found dead in an abandoned house in the Jogichora area of Assam's Sribhumi district. Dhar had been missing since August 12 after leaving his home on a motorcycle following a phone call.

Assam Police have apprehended two suspects, identified as Badrul Hoque and Sahabuddin, who led investigators to the location where the body was recovered. Police reported finding multiple injury marks on Dhar's body. During the investigation, one of the accused was shot in the leg by police after allegedly attempting to attack a constable and escape custody while the team was recovering the murder weapon. An investigation is ongoing to determine if other individuals were involved.
