Assam Congress leader accuses CM Sarma of governing through debt

Senior Congress leader and former MP Abdul Khaleque has accused Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of failing to advance the state following his second mandate. Speaking at a press conference in Morigaon regarding the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency by-election, Khaleque alleged that the state government is functioning by taking ‘one loan after another’.

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee stated that the government has also failed to meet the aspirations of tribal communities. Khaleque further criticized the necessity of the by-election, claiming it was imposed on the public after former Congress candidate Pradyut Bordoloi joined the BJP. Khaleque expressed confidence that the Congress party would secure a significant victory in the upcoming election.
