Assan Ouédraogo to undergo shoulder surgery after RB Leipzig injury

RB Leipzig midfielder Assan Ouédraogo faces a significant setback after sustaining a capsule injury in his right shoulder during a 5-0 victory against Hamburger SV. The 20-year-old, who had only recently returned to action following a Champions League appearance against Como 1907, will require surgery to treat the injury.

Club officials confirmed that Ouédraogo will be sidelined indefinitely. This injury marks a recurring struggle for the player; since joining RB Leipzig in the summer of 2024, he has missed more than 380 days due to various injuries, including previous issues with his knee.

In addition to his club duties, the injury will prevent Ouédraogo from participating in upcoming German national team fixtures under head coach Jürgen Klopp, including matches against the Netherlands, Greece, and Serbia.
