Assane Diao attracts interest from Everton, Roma, and Atalanta

Assane Diao, the 20-year-old winger playing for Como 1907, has attracted significant interest from several major football clubs. Everton is reportedly making exploratory contacts with Como to assess the situation of the Senegalese talent, whose owners, the Friedkin family, also own the Premier League side.

In addition to English interest, Diao has drawn attention from Serie A clubs Roma and Atalanta. Despite the interest, Como is reluctant to part with the player. Diao, who joined from Real Betis in early 2025, has become a key figure in Cesc Fàbregas’s project following a strong start in Italy, scoring 8 goals in 15 appearances before being sidelined by a foot injury.

Como holds a contract with the player until June 2029 and views him as a vital component for their upcoming Champions League campaign. Any potential transfer would require a substantial proposal to convince the club to release a player they consider central to their sporting goals.
