Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launches July 9 2026
Ubisoft is releasing a ground‑up remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, titled Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, on 9 July 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Ubisoft+. The project is led by Ubisoft Singapore with support from studios worldwide and runs on the latest Anvil engine, delivering ray‑traced lighting, denser environments and seamless open‑world streaming that removes loading screens when docking.
The remake retains the original story of pirate Edward Kenway while adding roughly six hours of new narrative content, expanded missions, and refreshed characters such as Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet. Gameplay updates include a parry‑driven combat system, manual crouch, tighter stealth mechanics, and upgraded naval combat with more realistic sail and water physics. Quality‑of‑life changes address longstanding pain points, such as faster inventory menus and improved AI cues.
The launch is accompanied by multiple editions – Standard, Deluxe and Collector’s – and promotional pricing. In the UK the game’s retail price was cut to about £31 after cashback deals, while Steam pre‑orders exceeded 300 000 units, outpacing previous Ubisoft releases. Reviews highlight the visual overhaul, smoother performance and the preservation of the beloved pirate adventure, confirming strong market interest across North America, Europe and Asia.
