Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced tops 3 million sales, New Game Plus announced
Ubisoft’s remake of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag launched on 9 July 2026 and sold more than 3 million copies within its first week, including 2 million units on day one. The strong commercial performance set a new franchise record for opening‑day sales and lifted Steam concurrent‑player numbers to a peak of over 104 000. Positive user reviews on Steam have risen to “Very Positive”.
Game director Richard Knight confirmed that a New Game Plus mode is currently in development, describing it as one of the first post‑launch priorities. The mode will let players restart the story with retained gear, levels and skills, with possible extra rewards. No release date has been given.
In parallel, Ubisoft released Title Update 1.0.4 (16 July 2026) to fix performance‑related bugs – notably a 30 FPS cap in cut‑scenes on PC – and to address lighting, mission‑blocking and save‑load issues across all platforms. Patch sizes vary by console. The remake is built from the ground up on Ubisoft’s Anvil engine by Ubisoft Singapore and a network of global studios.
