Ubisoft launches Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake “Resynced”
Ubisoft released a full‑remake of the 2013 pirate‑themed title Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, dubbed “Resynced”. Developed chiefly by Ubisoft Singapore, the game arrives on modern platforms – PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC – with upgraded graphics, higher‑resolution textures, improved lighting and a dramatically enhanced water system that makes the Caribbean seas feel more alive. The remake retains the original’s open‑world naval combat, treasure‑hunting and storyline centred on privateer‑turned‑assassin Edward Kenway, while adding features such as unrestricted free‑dive, refined controls, and a revised progression system that removes the old currency‑heavy grind. Early reviews praise the visual overhaul, smoother ship‑to‑land transitions and the faithful recreation of classic moments, but note the high launch price and some lingering bugs, including a quest‑blocking issue reported in the Templar‑hunt side‑mission. Ubisoft has promised a patch to fix the bug. Promotional tie‑ins include a free‑to‑claim outfit, pet monkey and pistols for early players, a trophy guide for achievement hunters, and a launch music video by the German band Saltatio Mortis featuring a new pirate anthem.
The release renews interest in one of the franchise’s most celebrated entries and re‑positions the title for both returning fans and newcomers on current hardware.
