Assassin’s Creed Destiny leaked footage reveals cancelled China-set project
Leaked prototype footage has surfaced online for a cancelled Assassin’s Creed title, reportedly known by the working title ‘Assassin’s Creed Destiny’. Unlike the mobile-exclusive ‘Assassin’s Creed Jade’, this project was intended to be a full AAA release for consoles and PC.
Developed by Tencent’s TiMi Studio Group in collaboration with Ubisoft, the game was set in ancient China during the Qin Dynasty, specifically around 206 BC. The leaked footage, which appears to originate from a February 2025 prototype, showcases core series elements such as parkour, stealth kills, and the ‘leap of faith’. One clip features a female assassin navigating a palace under siege by the historical figure Xiang Yu, while another shows a unique bladed umbrella-style weapon.
The project’s cancellation is linked to internal restructuring at TiMi Studio Group in early 2025 and Tencent’s shifting focus away from certain Western franchises. While ‘Destiny’ was scrapped, Ubisoft has confirmed that ‘Assassin’s Creed Jade’ remains in active development.
