Assassin’s Creed Odyssey recreates ancient Greek sites like Patrai and Delphi
The video game Assassin’s Creed Odyssey features various historical Greek locations, including the ancient city of Patrai and the sanctuary of Delphi.
In the game, Patrai is depicted as a powerful port city situated at the western foothills of Panachaiko, featuring fortifications, temples, and shipyards. A custom mission titled ‘Patrai Wall Run’ has been completed over 432,000 times by players on Ubisoft’s Story Creator Mode platform. The game’s setting incorporates real historical locations and figures alongside mythology during the Peloponnesian War.
Additionally, historian Dr. Garrett Ryan has provided a guided tour of the Delphi sanctuary as depicted in the game. The tour covers significant sites such as the Temple of Athena, the secret chamber of the Oracle of Delphi, the Castalian Spring, and the ancient theater on Mount Parnassus, connecting the digital representations to their historical importance.
