Assassins film explores 1974 First Lady assassination mystery

The historical mystery film ‘Assassins’ (암살자들), directed by Heo Jin-ho, is set to be released on the 23rd. The film is inspired by the 1974 assassination of South Korea’s First Lady during a Liberation Day ceremony.

Rather than focusing solely on identifying the perpetrator, the narrative follows three individuals who encounter discrepancies between official records and the actual circumstances of the event: detective Cheol-gu (played by Yoo Hae-jin), newspaper social affairs editor Jae-hwan (played by Park Hae-il), and rookie reporter Young-il (played by Lee Min-ho). The story tracks the whereabouts of two missing bullets during the 90 days following the incident.
