Assembly of God leader endorses candidates in Mato Grosso

José Wellington Bezerra da Costa Junior, president of the General Convention of the Assemblies of God in Brazil (CGADB), has announced his support for two political figures in Mato Grosso.

In one declaration, the pastor endorsed former governor Mauro Mendes for a seat in the Senate. Costa Junior praised Mendes's integrity and long-standing public trajectory, calling for voters in Mato Grosso to support him to ensure the state has strong representation in the Federal Senate.

Additionally, the religious leader expressed support for the reelection of Governor Otaviano Pivetta. Costa Junior cited Pivetta's administrative work and his previous management of Lucas do Rio Verde as reasons for his endorsement, noting that the governor's leadership benefits both the state and the evangelical community.
