Assembly to build 1.6 million euro parking facility
The Assembly is investing approximately 1.6 million euros (101,951,456 denar) to transform a former illegal parking area into a dedicated security zone and parking facility for official vehicles and delegations.
According to the Public Procurement Bureau, an agreement was finalized on June 8 with the company Stenton Gradba DOO to manage the construction and equipment installation. The project involves removing existing asphalt, laying granite tiles, constructing paths and parking spaces, planting trees, and installing urban lighting and a new entry/exit system.
The area surrounding the Parliament has been designated as a security zone. This follows changes to the 'Unaza e Vogël' Detailed Urban Plan, which shifted the project focus from an underground garage to a multi-story structure. The land involved was originally purchased by Ango DOOEL in 2013 for 333,000 euros.
