MotoGP Dutch Grand Prix at Assen sees scorching heat and dramatic races

During the warm‑up session at the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen, temperatures rose to 25 °C with the track reaching 29 °C. Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) set the fastest time, followed by Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati) who reclaimed the lead before finishing second. The top ten also featured Ai Ogura, Pedro Acosta and the Márquez brothers.

Rider Jorge Martin described the conditions as “more a volcano than a racetrack,” noting the extreme heat made the bike and tyre management a critical challenge. He survived a crash on Turn 11 in pre‑qualifying, later finishing ninth in the sprint.

In the races, Aprilia rider Ai Ogura claimed his maiden premier‑class victory, becoming the first Japanese winner since 2004. The Aprilia team dominated the weekend, while the championship battle tightened ahead of the 2026 title chase.
