Assin Fosu kidnapping: Family faces increased ransom demand for Bismark Amoh

The family of 30-year-old Bismark Amoh is urgently attempting to secure his release after his abductors in Assin Fosu, Ghana, increased their ransom demand. Following his abduction on September 6, 2026, the captors initially demanded GH¢45,000. Despite the family successfully raising and transferring GH¢19,500, the perpetrators reneged on the agreement and raised the total demand to GH¢49,500.

To coerce the family, the abductors have sent graphic WhatsApp audio and video recordings from Amoh’s phone, showing him bound and subjected to physical torture. The captors have issued a new eight-hour deadline, threatening to execute Amoh and destroy his property if the additional GH¢30,500 is not paid.

An investigation has revealed a recording of an unidentified woman accusing Amoh of fraud, suggesting the kidnapping may be linked to a financial dispute. The case has been reported to the Cybercrime Unit of the Central North Regional Police Command.
