Assisi and Segrate host commemorations for Saint Carlo Acutis
Commemorations are being held in Assisi and Segrate to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of Carlo Acutis, the millennial saint proclaimed in 2025. In Assisi, the Sanctuary of the Spogliazione will host four days of events from October 9 to 12, featuring masses, music, and testimonies. A central mass on October 11 will be presided over by Cardinal Luis Antonio Gokim Tagle. The sanctuary has seen significant growth in attendance, with over 1.7 million pilgrims visiting since July of last year.
In Segrate, the relics of the young saint will be exhibited at the Church of Lavanderie from October 9 to 12. The schedule includes specific prayer sessions and meetings tailored for children, adolescents, and adults.
Carlo Acutis, who died of leukemia at age 15 in 2006, is known as the “patron of the Internet” for his use of technology to spread his faith. His remains are currently housed in Assisi.
