Assisi hosts journalism school and youth spiritual gathering

Assisi is hosting two distinct events focused on journalism and youth spirituality. The Unione Cattolica Stampa Italiana (UCSI) is conducting its School for Young Journalists under the theme “At the service of Democracy: instructions for free journalists.” The program features sociologist Francesco Pira, who will moderate discussions on democracy and verified information, and lead a workshop on the impact of artificial intelligence and social media on disinformation.

Simultaneously, the 46th edition of “Giovani verso Assisi,” organized by the Franciscan Center for Youth, has brought over 400 young people from across Italy to the city. This four-day event focuses on the theme “You are freedom. Without anything, with everything,” utilizing Franciscan spirituality to encourage personal reflection and community building through workshops and liturgical celebrations.
