Assistant coach Kim Do Heon departs Vietnam national team

Assistant coach Kim Do Heon has officially departed from the Vietnam national football team following the completion of his short-term contract with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). Kim, a former South Korean international who participated in the 2006 World Cup, joined the coaching staff in late June to support head coach Kim Sang Sik through the ASEAN Cup 2026 and the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026.

This marks the fourth time head coach Kim Sang Sik has had to seek a new primary assistant since arriving in Vietnam, following the previous departures of Choi Won Kwon and Lee Jung Soo. The coaching staff must now find a replacement quickly to prepare for the upcoming November FIFA Days, which include international friendlies against Chinese Taipei and Kyrgyzstan, as well as preparations for the 2027 Asian Cup.
