Assistant to Duong Lam JSC CEO arrested for illegal radioactive transport
Lạng Sơn provincial police have arrested Trần Nhật Anh, an assistant to the General Director of Duong Lam Joint Stock Company, for aiding in the illegal transport of radioactive substances. The arrest follows an investigation into the unauthorized movement of rare earth ore and radioactive materials.
Earlier in the case, authorities seized 84 tons of Monazite ore, identified as a radioactive substance, belonging to Duong Lam JSC at the Hữu Nghị border gate while it was being prepared for export. On May 13, 2026, the company's Chairman and General Director, Trần Văn Quận, was also prosecuted and detained for the same offense.
This marks the first time such ore has been processed under this specific criminal charge, serving as a precedent for protecting national resources from illegal export.
