Assiterminal joins FEPORT debate on EU port strategy

Assiterminal executives Tomaso Cognolato and Fabio Bucchioni participated in a FEPORT event at the European Parliament titled ‘The EU strategy for ports: a route towards global leadership of European port hubs by 2035’. The discussion focused on the EU Port Strategy, which aims to establish a framework for the competitiveness, resilience, and security of European ports.

Key topics addressed during the debate included the revision of the Emissions Trading System (ETS), specifically regarding maritime implications and the lack of exemptions for large islands. Other critical issues discussed were the proposed Public Procurement Act, the European military mobility package, worker upskilling and reskilling, and the Cyber Security Act.
