Assiut begins second phase of state land encroachment removals

Assiut Governor Mohamed Alwan has announced the launch of the second phase of ‘Wave 30’ aimed at removing encroachments on state-owned and agricultural lands. This phase began on Saturday, September 26, 2026, and is scheduled to run until October 16.

The campaign involves intensified removal operations across various centers, cities, and districts within the governorate. The initiative follows state directives to protect public property and combat illegal construction and spatial changes. Local executive bodies are coordinating with security directorates and relevant authorities to ensure all legal procedures and removal decisions are finalized before implementation.

Results of the removal operations are being recorded daily via a dedicated information platform to document cases and monitor progress. This data is integrated with systems for land legalization and spatial monitoring. The overall Wave 30 process consists of three stages: the first concluded on September 18, the second runs until mid-October, and the final phase is set to begin on October 24 and conclude on November 13.
