Assiut Governor discusses blood supply enhancement with national services delegation

The Governor of Assiut, Major General Mohamed Alwan, met with a delegation from the National Blood Transfusion Services Regional Center to discuss enhancing the provision of safe blood and its derivatives. The meeting, led by Center Director General Dr. Mariam Youssef Gad, focused on meeting the needs of hospitals, patients, and emergency cases to support the governorate's healthcare system.

Discussions included strategies to increase blood collection rates and address operational challenges. The officials emphasized the importance of spreading a culture of regular blood donation through community awareness and expanded cooperation between executive, youth, and civil society organizations. The goal is to ensure a rapid response to critical medical needs and maintain a sufficient blood supply for the region.
