Assiut Governor inspects new 850 million EGP Sahel Sellem Central Hospital

The Governor of Assiut, Mohamed Alwan, inspected the construction and equipping of the new Sahel Sellem Central Hospital. The project has a total cost of 850 million Egyptian pounds and is currently over 70% complete.

Spanning 6,666 square meters, the facility will consist of a ground floor and six upper floors. It is designed to have a capacity of 115 beds, including 70 inpatient beds, 23 intensive care beds, and 22 incubators. The hospital will feature various specialized departments, such as emergency services, obstetrics and gynecology, endoscopy, physical therapy, radiology, and a plasma collection center. Additionally, it will include 20 dialysis machines, a central sterilization department, a nursing school, and doctors' housing.

The project is part of a national plan to develop the health sector and prepare for the implementation of the Universal Health Insurance system, following directives from President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. The governor emphasized the need to adhere to high quality and efficiency standards during the final finishing and utility connection stages.
