Associação Mão Amiga and UCS partner for medical internships

The Associação Mão Amiga has established a partnership with the Universidade de Caxias do Sul (UCS) to expand practical training opportunities for medical students. Through this agreement, students will conduct supervised internships and activities within urgent and emergency care units (UPAs).

The program is designed to expose academics to various levels of medical complexity, ranging from common acute illnesses to severe cases. To ensure clinical safety and maintain service workflows, professors will provide on-site guidance during specific periods. According to Frei Jaime Bettega, president of Associação Mão Amiga, the initiative aims to connect academic knowledge with the realities of public health services, fostering a more humanized approach to medical training.
