Association of Hungarian Sports Journalists presidency resigns

The entire presidency of the Association of Hungarian Sports Journalists (MSÚSZ), led by György Szöllősi, has announced its unanimous resignation effective September 27. The leadership, which was re-elected during the 2023 general assembly, decided not to complete its mandate through 2028.

In a statement, the presidency noted that stepping down is intended to facilitate the election of a new leadership team that can work more effectively with the new sports governance structure and better serve the profession. The outgoing board has requested that Szöllősi, who has led the organization since 2015, convene an extraordinary general assembly on September 27 to elect a new president and leadership for the next five years.

The association confirmed that its various scholarship programs and daily domestic and international operations will continue uninterrupted. The organization's finances remain stable and debt-free through the end of the year.
