Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria presents nine policy positions
The Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria (AIKB) has presented nine formal positions regarding legislative proposals on the agenda of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation (NTSC). The organization advocates for measures that reduce administrative burdens, encourage investment, and increase transparency, while opposing proposals that create additional costs or legal uncertainty.
Key points include support for increasing tax reliefs for children and introducing new deductions for documented health, education, and sports expenses to support working families. However, the AIKB opposes a proposed 33% extraordinary sector tax on ‘excess profits,’ arguing it could penalize successful investments and increased productivity. The association also opposes limiting the annual deduction of tax losses to 70% of positive results.
Regarding the transition to the euro, the AIKB warns against a de facto increase in administrative fines. They argue that converting existing Lev-denominated sanctions into the same numerical values in Euro would result in a 95.58% increase rather than a simple currency conversion. The association insists that fines should be converted at the official fixed rate and that any updates to fine amounts should be subject to clear impact assessments.
