Association of Private Pediatricians of Attica issues ADYM guidelines

The Association of Private Pediatricians of Attica has released detailed guidelines for parents and educators regarding the proper use of the Individual Student Health Certificate (ADYM). The association emphasizes that the ADYM is a preventive tool designed to facilitate cooperation between families, pediatricians, and schools to ensure student safety and participation in school activities, such as physical education.

Key distinctions are made between the ADYM and a child's full medical record. While the ADYM summarizes findings relevant to school life, the comprehensive medical history and detailed examination results are recorded in a separate Medical Examination Sheet, which remains in the pediatrician's private files. The association stresses that an ADYM must never be issued without a complete clinical examination and should not be treated as a mere formality.

Furthermore, the guidelines clarify that schools should only receive information essential for the student's safety. The ADYM is specifically intended for school-related purposes and is not authorized for use in activities outside of the educational environment.
