AssoCISO holds inaugural CISO Meetup to coordinate Italian cybersecurity

The first CISO Meetup 2026, organized by AssoCISO (the Italian Association of Chief Information Security Officers), was held in Rome to strengthen the coordination of national cybersecurity defenses. The event brought together over 150 high-level representatives from the defense, intelligence, armed forces, and law enforcement sectors to address the interconnectedness of the digital domain, industrial security, and military defense.

AssoCISO President Fabio Ugoste emphasized the need for an authoritative community of specialists to work alongside national stakeholders to defend against increasingly pervasive and global cyberattacks. Igor Kranjec, the association's general secretary, highlighted the importance of regulatory security and the evolving role of security officers in protecting critical infrastructure, including power supplies and transport systems.

The conference featured participation from various institutional and military figures, including Deputy Minister Valentino Valentini and representatives from the National Cybersecurity Agency, aimed at establishing a stable dialogue between those defending digital infrastructures and those defining national security policies.
