Assonautica Macerata reconstituted to develop blue economy

Assonautica Macerata has been reconstituted to promote the development of the blue economy and the nautical sector in the Marche region of Italy. The association aims to strengthen local maritime activities, support supply chain actors, and enhance tourism, recreation, and sports related to boating.

Headquartered at the Marche Chamber of Commerce in Macerata, the association will also focus on research, training, development, and environmental protection. Giuseppe Micucci has been appointed president of the first Board of Directors, supported by Vice President Cristiana Mazzaferro and members Piergiorgio Balboni, Gian Filippo Bianchi, and Marco Scarpetta.

The initiative comes during a period of significant growth for the regional maritime sector. According to Gino Sabatini, president of the Marche Chamber of Commerce, exports of ships and boats from the Marche region reached 1,132.4 million euros in the first half of 2026, representing an 84% increase compared to the same period the previous year.
